Pigeons, Doves and Dovecotes
Product Review (submitted on 25 June 2009):This is a fine book for a beginner (which I am) seeking information to start a dovecote. The advice is clear and simple, and the illustrations helpful and gorgeous.
Two brief suggestions for future editions: (1) A drawing of a dovecote for amateur builders to follow would be helpful. (2) I'm not clear on how doves at liberty, i.e., occupants of a polecote or wallcote, are fed. One illustration shows a feeding table, but no mention is made of methods of feeding. Such information for aviaries is clear and complete.
All in all, a very fine book. I look forward to purchasing more Gold Cockerel books as my interests in avian husbandry develop.
