A flight of gorgeous white doves wheeling around my house and garden has been a dream that I have cherished for many years. Having purchased the excellent 'Pigeons Doves & Dovecotes' book I have now been inspired to believe that I can actually achieve my dream. As a pensioner purchasing a purpose built polecote is out of the question (they are seriously expensive) but I have used the dimensions given in the book to build my own polecote. This weekend friends assisted in lifting the polecote onto its pole and now I am looking forward to purchasing my first breeding pair of doves.
